What makes this sale even more remarkable is that the entire proceeds will go towards supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), an organization dedicated to preventing and treating type 1 diabetes.

During the Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction over the weekend, the first production Ford Mustang Dark Horse was sold for an impressive $375,000.

This inaugural Dark Horse model boasts a stunning Blue Ember Metallic finish and comes equipped with Recaro sports seats, accent stripes, as well as the Handling and Appearance packages. Factory-fitted enhancements include a MagneRide suspension, a K-brace Torsen rear differential, and a set of Pirelli Trofeo RS tires mounted on staggered wheels.

Under the hood, VIN 001 houses a potent 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, delivering 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft (566 Nm) of torque. This power is exclusively channeled to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual gearbox.

It's worth noting that the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse starts at $60,850.
