Porsche is updating the My Porsche app, the command centre for the digital management and control of a Porsche car.

Recently, the automaker unveiled substantial updates to the My Porsche App with the aim of improving its performance and achieving deeper integration into the user's digital experience.

The most significant change is the integration of new features into Apple CarPlay, enabling users to control various aspects of their vehicle directly from their iPhone. This includes tasks like changing radio stations, adjusting the car's temperature, and managing ambient lighting, all through a simple interface on their phone screen.

Moreover, Porsche is extending this convenience to Apple Watch users. With the My Porsche App for Apple Watch, owners can access crucial information about their vehicle, such as cabin temperature and door lock status, right from their wrist.

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the ability to access their Performance Dashboard from CarPlay, providing real-time data on top speed, G-forces, driving efficiency, average speed, distance covered, and more.

Porsche is also integrating Siri into 400,000 existing vehicles, giving drivers the capability to control a range of functions using Apple's voice assistant. This can be initiated conveniently from a button on the steering wheel (for those with PCM 6.0 or later).

Notably, these updates come with a cleaner and more user-friendly interface, making it easier for owners to perform their favorite tasks quickly and effortlessly.

Of particular interest is the integration with Apple CarPlay, which now empowers electric vehicle drivers to plan their routes and charging stops using their iPhone before embarking on a journey. This enhanced integration takes into account the vehicle's state of charge, allowing for efficient planning of charging stops in advance.
