The updated Škoda Octavia will soon be officially unveiled in both hatchback and estate versions.

Škoda Auto is offering a sneak peek at the modernised Škoda Octavia with a short exterior teaser.

The updated exterior design features a refined front view with an extended Škoda grille. On the tailgate, the Škoda lettering reflects the brand’s revised corporate identity.

The Czech carmaker did not reveal any further information other than that its updated bestseller will be unveiled shortly.

We don't expect much to change under the bonnet. However, the Octavia is likely to borrow the 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder 85 kW / 116 hp engine from the updated Kamiq. A 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 110 kW / 150 hp is also expected, as well as a range of 2.0-litre engines. The latter will power the high-performance RS version.

According to reports, Skoda is also developing an all-electric version of the Octavia, but this isn't expected until the second half of the decade. This model will still be based on the MQB platform. However, the plug-in hybrid version of the car is expected to remain in the range with the upcoming update in February.
