The Chinese Geely Group has begun mass producing Volvo's first minivan (MPV), known as the EM90.

The Volvo EM90 is essentially a rebadged version of the Zeekr 009 MPV. Currently, this model is exclusively available in China with a starting price of 115K USD, and deliveries are set to commence in March of this year.

The Volvo EM90 made its debut in China on November 12, 2023. It is built on Geely's advanced SEA platform, which also serves as the foundation for other remarkable models like the Polestar 4, Lotus Eletre and Emeya, Jiyue 01, Smart #1, Smart #3, and the entire Zeekr lineup.

The dimensions of the EM90 model measure 5,206/2,024/1,859 mm, with a wheelbase of 3,205 mm. It features a six-seat layout, arranged in a 2+2+2 configuration, and boasts an impressive audio system with 21 Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

The powertrain of the Volvo EM90 consists of a 200-kW electric motor located on the rear axle, which is powered by a 116-kWh battery. This combination allows for an impressive CLTC range of 738 km.

The Geely Hangzhou Bay plant in China is responsible for manufacturing the Volvo EM90, as well as its sibling, the Zeekr 009. Additionally, this site produces other models such as the Zeekr 001, Zeekr 001 FR, Jiyue 01, and Polestar 4. With a peak capacity of 300,000 vehicles per year, this plant stands as a testament to efficiency and productivity.
