The name "Symbioz" is derived from "symbiosis," which means living together. Sylvia Dos Santos, at the helm of Renault's naming strategy, explained that the choice reflects the 'human significance' of the connection between a family and their car.
In terms of size, the Symbioz will be 4.41 meters long. This places it between familiar models in size, being 15mm shorter than the Nissan Qashqai and closer in length to the Kia Niro. Key exterior features include a long roofline paired with sharp vertical LED strakes, slim headlights, and an angular front end. Inside, it boasts a single-piece glass roof utilizing 'Solarbay' technology and design elements inspired by both the Captur SUV and Clio supermini.

The Symbioz will weigh under 1,500kg and come equipped with an E-Tech hybrid 145 engine. The SUV stands on Renault’s CMF-B HS (high specification) platform.
Further prospects include a potential plug-in hybrid powertrain for future models. Also noteworthy is Renault's previous use of the "Symbioz" name for an all-electric concept car in 2017 geared towards envisioning mobility in 2030. This past concept focused on sleek design, a 670-hp dual-motor setup, and autonomous driving capabilities.
