The American automaker announced the start of export deliveries of the all-electric F-150 Lightning back in April 2023. Norway was chosen as the first destination country for the pickup. Ford chose this country because of the widespread adoption of electric vehicles, as well as the widespread use of four-wheel drive vehicles.
Gunnar Berg, Ford's managing director in Norway, said that in his 25 years at Ford, he has never seen such customer demand as he has with the F-150 Lightning. In his words, "customers were literally knocking on my door and begging me to bring an electric pickup truck to Norway."
On Friday, 9 February, Berg announced on social media that Norway's first Ford F-150 Lightning had been officially handed over to customers. The owners of the electric pickup truck are Doug and his wife Angela. They are originally from Texas and now live near Oslo, where they run a barbecue business.

Only one version of the F-150 Lightning is available to Norwegians. This is the Lightning Lariat Launch Edition with a 98 kWh battery and 4x4 all-wheel drive. The range in the European WLTP cycle is 429 kilometres. The price of the electric pickup is from NOK 1,186,000, which roughly corresponds to 104,800 euros or 112,800 US dollars.
By the way, in the US, the Ford F-150 Lightning became the best-selling electric pickup truck of 2023. In total, more than 24,000 units were sold, which is 54 per cent more than in 2022.
