The new generation of the Romanian brand's small electric car will be officially unveiled at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show.

Dacia has published the first teaser image of the Spring electric hatchback in the 2024 model year version. The photo shows the small electric car in profile. The proportions are very reminiscent of the current generation. The continuity in design is also confirmed by rumours.

According to preliminary information, the new Dacia Spring will slightly increase in size compared to the 3.73 metres of the current model. The innovations will affect some parts of the body, especially the front, which will repeat the style of the new Dacia Duster. Thus, the compact electric car will have Spring more solid look.

The interior of the Dacia Spring 2024 will also change and is also likely to share common features with the new Duster, starting with a more modern infotainment system.

However, the most important innovation is hidden from view. The new Dacia Spring is built on the CMF-AEV platform, a further development of the current platform, which Renault CEO Luca De Meo described in 2022 as "the cheapest in the world". The CMF-AEV is designed to reduce the weight of the car and introduce new technologies, particularly in the area of safety. The Dacia Spring's engines and batteries could also be improved in terms of performance and range, although there are no official announcements on this yet.

The main challenge for the new Dacia Spring will be to establish itself as the cheapest electric car on the European market. Prices for the current Spring start at €12,750 in Germany, subject to a whopping €10,000 discount.

More details about the new Dacia Spring will become known on 21 February. the official presentation of the electric car is scheduled for that date. Spring will then head to the Geneva Motor Show 2024, which will take place from 26 February to 3 March.
