The iCar 03 is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions and several types of battery packs with capacities ranging from 50.6 to 69.8 kWh.

iCar is a new brand of Chinese Chery, selling electric cars and targeting the 25-35 age group. The 03 is the brand's first production car and will go on sale in China on 28 February.

The iCar 03 measures 4,406 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, 1,715 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,715 mm. The SUV has an emphasised 'square' design, but also features retractable door handles. The body structure combines steel and aluminium elements. The short overhangs at the front and rear are expected to facilitate off-road travelling.

The interior design matches the exterior of the car. The small dashboard display is complemented by a massive 15.6-inch screen in landscape orientation. There are two knobs on the centre console for some reason.

The iCar 03 is available with one engine (RWD) or two engines (AWD). In all versions, the rear motor has a power output of 135 kW and a maximum torque of 184 Nm. The all-wheel drive version adds a front motor with an additional 70 kW and 95 Nm of torque.

The lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack from CATL is available in three versions: 50.6 kWh, 65.7 kWh and 69.8 kWh. The CLTC cycle range is claimed to be 401 kilometres, 501 kilometres and 472 kilometres respectively.

Cars in higher equipment levels will get a key with NFC and a multimedia information system powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. This system runs Chery's i-VA OS with a virtual assistant.

Pre-sales of the iCar 03 are on from November 2023. Prices for the SUV range from 129,800 to 185,800 yuan ($18,000-$25,800).
