Tesla Optimus robot walks around the lab in new video

Tesla has demonstrated in a new video how smoothly and confidently its robotic humanoid Optimus can walk.

The short video on X (Twitter) was captioned, "Getting my daily steps in"

Social media users have noticed a marked improvement in Optimus' speed compared to May 2023.

The Optimus robot has come a long way since its prototype was unveiled at Tesla's Artificial Intelligence Day in 2022. Optimus appeared on stage at the Silicon Valley event at the time, waved to the audience and raised his knees.

The Optimus robot has the same sensor components and artificial intelligence software as Tesla's cars .

Tesla CEO Ilon Musk said in 2022 that most of the company's long-term value will come from robots, and their sales will exceed those of cars.
