The new KGM 0100 twin-engined pickup will have a range of around 300 miles (482km) and performance characteristics that outshine most of its petrol and diesel rivals, Autocar reported.
The pickup is being built on an adapted KGM Torres SUV platform with an all-wheel drive system and higher-capacity batteries. For this purpose, the vehicle will receive an increased wheelbase.
KGM O100 concept was shown at last year's Seoul Motor Show
As with the Torres, most of the powertrain will come from China's BYD. The LFP battery capacity will be increased from 73.4 kWh to 80.1 kWh. A second motor on the rear axle will provide a power boost to the 204bhp of the front-wheel-drive model.
The company has yet to disclose the power output, but the torque figure will be well above the SUV's 340 Nm, which is good news for towing capacity and off-road potential.
The price of the upcoming KGM pickup is yet to be named.
