The Superb's new digital instrument cluster looks as if it has been wedged into the dashboard and nailed in place right in front of the old analogue unit.

The Skoda Superb is built on the same platform as the Volkswagen Passat, which also has a digital instrument cluster.  But while in the Passat this element is harmoniously integrated into the interior design, in the Superb the display looks foreign. Just look at the images in the gallery below. The first image shows the Passat, the second one shows the Superb:

To be fair, a freestanding digital cluster can also be found from other manufacturers. For example, in the base version of the Mercedes-Benz EQE:

Nevertheless, it is still a mystery why Skoda left the peaked visor in such a shape, which can be observed on the official photos. Perhaps in real life this design solution looks better, time will tell.
