BYD has unveiled its new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) pickup truck. It matches the Toyota Hilux in size and targets the global market.

The truck features a camouflage design in blue and orange. It sports distinctive two-lens headlights that form an '8'. Its design is robust, with wide wheel arches and a high bonnet line. Other features include roof rails, a short bed, traditional door handles, AT tires by Giti, fuel and charge ports on opposite rear fenders, and a multi-link independent rear suspension.

It measures similarly to the Toyota Hilux but boasts a mixed range around 1,000 km and can travel approximately 100 km on electric power alone. The truck includes advanced features like AR-HUD and an active suspension system.

BYD aims to market this PHEV pickup in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. These regions have shown growing interest in versatile utility vehicles capable of both work and leisure activities.

There are expectations that this model could get a sales license from Chinese authorities soon. Also, it might debut at the Beijing Auto Show later in April.
