Alpine has announced that they will debut their hydrogen-combustion supercar, Alpenglow, on the track at Spa-Francorchamps. The futuristic car will be driven for the first time at Spa-Francorchamps ahead of the 6 Hours race on 11 May.

The concept of Alpenglow was first unveiled at the Paris motor show in 2022. Its goal is to demonstrate Alpine's dedication to design excellence and commitment to environmentally friendly innovation.

Alpine opts for hydrogen combustion over battery-electric technology with Alpenglow. The prototype serves multiple roles. It acts as a technical demonstrator while previewing design elements likely to feature in Alpine's next-generation race cars and consumer models.

Compared to its 2022 concept version, Alpenglow has undergone considerable evolution in styling; it now boasts a less extreme front end, pixel-style headlights, aerodynamically optimized air intakes, a Le Mans Prototype 1 (LMP1)-style glass canopy, and a prominent air intake to cool its mid-rear-mounted engine.

The company has not revealed any further technical details about the powertrain, although the concept is said to be electrically assisted.
