Citroën has unveiled a significant update to its C3 Aircross lineup, featuring new design elements, an electric vehicle (EV) version, and a seven-seat configuration.

The updated C3 Aircross distinguishes itself with a chunky, boxy design that incorporates Citroën's new corporate logo and a grille inspired by the brand's iconic double-chevron badge.

Built on the revised 'Smart' CMP platform, which it shares with the smaller C3 hatchback, this model introduces substantial changes in dimensions. It is now 4,390 mm in total length, an increase of 240 mm over its predecessor, and boasts the largest wheelbase in its class.

In addition to the striking design updates, the rear window's more upright position enhances headroom for third-row passengers. This positions the C3 Aircross as a practical option for larger families or those requiring additional seating capacity.

Citroën offers multiple powertrain options for the new C3 Aircross: a standard combustion engine, a mild-hybrid system using a 1.2-liter turbo engine, and an all-electric version. The electric model features a 156 hp motor on the front axle and promises a range exceeding 402 km, providing ample power and distance capability for everyday use.

The introduction of these various options sets Citroën's compact SUV apart from competitors like Opel Frontera. Both share similar underlying architectures but will compete directly in several European markets once sales commence later this year.
