Brazilian racing icon Ayrton Senna, a three-time Formula 1 world champion, had a significant influence on this particular NSX model during its development phase in Japan. His input led to enhancements in the chassis stiffening, optimizing the car's performance capabilities. The car features a 3.0-liter V6 engine and can reach top speeds of 165 mph (265 km/h).
Currently, the NSX is owned by Robert McFagan, who bought it in Portugal in 2013 and has since stored it in his home outside London. It has 39,100 miles (62 925 km) on the clock.
This same car was driven at the Imola Circuit in Italy five years ago at an event commemorating the 25th anniversary of Senna’s death at the track.
“Being a huge Senna fan myself, I was delighted when I was able to get my hands on the NSX, which was crafted to perfection,” said McFagan. “It’s been a real pleasure owning what is one of the most famous cars belonging to a true sporting legend, and the thrill of driving Senna’s car never goes away.”
This NSX isn’t just notable for its technical specs but also holds sentimental value as it was featured in the 1992 documentary titled "Racing Is in My Blood."
In recent years, Ayrton Senna’s impact even extended to popular culture with releases like a Lego model of his famous McLaren MP4/4 race car earlier this year. This model is celebrated as one of F1’s most successful race cars ever constructed.
