The special edition Renault 5 E-Téch is available in a choice of Pearl White, Midnight Blue, Starry Black and an exclusive Matt Slate Gray. Each of these finishes is set against a Satin Black textile grained roof framed by satin chrome trim, and the cars roll on 18-inch Ecrou diamond-cut black alloy wheels with Matt Slate Gray center caps.
There are Roland Garros logos on the lower sections of the front doors, set in a crosshatch pattern that looks like it's meant to represent the strings of a tennis racket, but is apparently a reference to the Cross of Saint Andrew and inspired by the stadium's architecture.
Renault 5 E-Tech electric Roland-Garros
More Roland Garros logos appear inside, including on seats upholstered in a recycled textile weave that Renault says was inspired by technical fabrics used in sportswear, and on the end of the e-pop gear selector, whose lever is shaped like the grip of a tennis racket. A backlight on the dashboard spells out the name "Roland Garros Paris" and, in a clever reference to the clay surface of the French Open, the carpets and the console's phone charger are finished in an orange-red color.
The Roland Garros 5 will be on display at the tournament alongside several other E-Tech 5s. And they won't be the only Renaults on site. The automaker is providing organizers with 180 hybrid and electric cars and SUVs for use during the event, and is even offering shuttle rides in four classic 1970s 5s that have been converted to run on electricity.
For context, Renault is a premium partner of the French Open tennis tournament from 2022. The carmaker will have a 150m² stand dedicated to the Renault 5 E-Tech electric. The electric hatchback will be in the spotlight from May 20 to June 9.
