The Cupra Formentor and Leon models have undergone their first major facelift, introducing a striking 'shark-nose' front end design reminiscent of the Terramar SUV and boosting engine options including an upgraded to 333 hp 2.0-liter unit.

The fresh look for both the Formentor and Leon comprises a newly designed 'shark-nose' front end, inspired directly by the brand's Terramar SUV. These modifications are accompanied by redesigned triangular matrix LED headlights, a wide front grille, revised tail lights, and an illuminated Cupra logo at the rear.

Both cars maintain their architecture based on VW Group’s MQB Evo platform which remains unchanged. However, they boast new enhancements under the hood. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 333 hp is exclusive to both Formentor and Leon Sportstourer wagon. This engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.

Apart from the high-powered engine option, several additional powertrains are available including a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid system utilizing 48-volt technology and more powerful plug-in hybrids with up to 275 hp and over 100 km electric range capability. There is also a 2.0-liter simpler engine option producing 205 hp aimed for those seeking efficiency balanced with power.

Interior enhancements also coincide with technological advancements in these vehicles. The cabin features a redesigned center console using new materials like recycled microfiber or environmentally-conscious leather reflecting sustainability efforts by Cupra. The seats have transformed into sportier bucket-style ones complemented by upgraded digital instrument clusters and larger infotainment displays measuring 12.9 inches. Additionally, audio quality has significantly improved with the inclusion of a 12-speaker sound system developed by Sennheiser.
