Netflix has released the first images and a teaser for "Senna," its upcoming six-episode series set to premiere in late 2024. The show, inspired by Formula 1 icon Ayrton Senna, will depict his life and illustrious racing career.

The teaser centers around the dramatic 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix, where Senna achieved his first victory on his home track. It shows moments of extreme emotion including his victory scream and glimpses of his early life and career which helped define his legacy. These scenes highlight the intense hardships and personal achievements that mark significant moments in Senna's career.

Gabriel Leone stars as Ayrton Senna, bringing to life the racer's storied journey in what Netflix describes as a "fictional retelling." Alongside Leone, Matt Mella plays rival racer Alain Prost and Pamela Tome features as Xuxa, Senna’s girlfriend.

Before reaching the peak of F1 racing, Senna honed his skills in Formula Ford. His win at the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix was a notable high in a year when he also clinched his third World Championship, making him the youngest three-time F1 winner at age 31.

Tragically, Senna’s life was cut short on May 1, 1994, when he died during a crash at the San Marino Grand Prix in Imola. His car struck a wall at speeds surpassing 100 mph; it was determined he died on impact. He was 34 years old when he died.
