Mexico will soon see the launch of the 2025 Subaru WRX Sportwagon. Presales have already commenced, with full availability slated for later this year.

The WRX Sportwagon features a robust 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine, delivering 271 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 259 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm. Buyers can choose between a standard six-speed manual transmission and an optional CVT, though all models come with Subaru's Symmetrical AWD system.

In terms of pricing, the base model "WRX High 6MT" is priced at approximately 819,900 pesos (~$48,500 USD), while the higher-end "WRX tS CVT" goes for about 919,900 pesos (~$54,500 USD).

Compared to its luxury European competitors like the Audi RS6 Avant and BMW M5 Touring, which both exceed $100,000 USD, the WRX Sportwagon offers significant savings. Although not directly comparable in performance terms to these higher-end wagons, it presents an intriguing value proposition.

The previous version of this car was known as the Subaru Levorg which made its global debut in 2022. The WRX Sportwagon takes up from where the Levorg left off. If this model were available in the U.S., it could potentially shake up a niche market segment currently dominated by pricey offerings from Audi and BMW by providing a much more accessible performance option.
