Kia's ongoing strategy includes pushing forward with its new electric models, such as the EV3, which stays about 90% true to its concept design. However, slight adjustments include bigger side mirrors and door handles addition; potential tweaks might involve changes to bumpers and wheels. This design strategy keeps the EV3 similar to the larger EV5/EV5 GT models.
Inside the cabin, while the concept featured a minimalist design with few physical controls, it is expected that the production version of the EV3 will contain more traditional controls favored by Korean brands.

From a technical standpoint, the EV3 shares the E-GMP platform common to other Kia electric models like the EV6 and EV9. The voltage system stands at 400 volts compared to the 800-volt system in some of Kia's higher-end models. For charging capacity comparisons, whereas an EV6 can charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, details specific to the new EV3 range have not yet been disclosed.
Last month, Automotive News reported that the model could cost around $32,000 and could be assembled at Kia's plant in Monterrey, Mexico, where the new K4 is also made.
