Avatr released a handful of teasers of the 07 last week. At the time, it was known as the Avatr 15, but new images and details from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reveal that it will be called the 07.

The Avatr 07 is the latest NEV (New Energy Vehicle) from the joint venture between Changan and CATL. Like other vehicles from the young Avatr brand, the 07 uses many technologies from Huawei, which serves as a major parts supplier.

Changan developed it as a rival to the Tesla Model Y, and local reports suggest it will cost between 250,000 and 350,000 yuan (about $34,600 to $48,400 at current exchange rates).

In design aspects, the Avatr 07 bears resemblance to its predecessor, the Avatr 11. It features distinctive LED daytime running lights that drop down its face and uses traditional mirrors or optional side-view cameras. The doors are sleek with flush handles creating a streamlined profile. Dimensionally, it surpasses the Model Y being longer, wider but slightly lower which could impact aerodynamics positively.

Changan offers three main variants of this model: a single-motor battery electric version producing 338 horsepower using an LFP battery by CATL; a dual-motor setup achieving a combined output of up to 590 horsepower; and a range-extender version capable of delivering up to 485 horsepower through its combined electric motor and small gas engine system.
