The new version of the Jeep Avenger, the 4xe, was recently spotted in Europe. This model stands out as it introduces all-wheel drive (AWD) capabilities — a first for the Avenger lineup.

Jeep's current Avenger model is available only in front-wheel drive. The newly spied Avenger 4xe promises to switch things up with its all-wheel drive system. The production model, previewed by a 2022 concept, follows in the footsteps of the standard Avenger but adds a roof rack that hints at its rugged nature. There don't seem to be any other major changes, but the crossover could get new wheels.

The inside of the Jeep Avenger 4xe will likely resemble the standard model currently on sale. Expected features include either a 7- or 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster alongside a 10.25-inch infotainment system.

Earlier this year, Jeep detailed features of the Avenger's powertrain which includes a six-speed dual-clutch transmission system paired with two electric motors each generating 29 horsepower, supplemented by a primary engine producing 136 hp. This setup also involves a 48V mild hybrid system enabling AWD functionality and pure electric drive at lower speeds.
