Tim Kuniskis, the CEO of Ram and Dodge known for spawning the iconic Hellcat engine, is set to retire on June 1. The announcement came from Stellantis last Friday. Christine Feuell will take over as the new CEO of Ram while continuing her leadership at Chrysler. Matt McAlear will step up as the new CEO of Dodge.

Kuniskis began his career with Chrysler in 1993 handling district sales for parts and service. He progressed to senior manager for dealer operations in 2003 and director for Chrysler marketing in 2009. By 2011, he was leading Fiat in North America. He assumed his first CEO role with Dodge in 2013, took on leadership at Dodge again in 2021, and added Ram CEO to his responsibilities in 2023.

Under Kuniskis's direction since 2014, Dodge saw transformative changes including the launch of the Hellcat V-8 engine which boasts a power output of 707 horsepower. This model reset performance standards and propelled Dodge into a new era of muscle cars. His vision shaped Dodge as a pure performance brand embodied by the 'Brotherhood of Muscle.'

The car industry is observing crucial transitions under Kuniskis’s stewardship. Notable changes include the discontinuation of classic models like Challenger and reconfiguration of Charger and Ram vehicles towards electric or twin-turbocharged engines.

Carlos Tavares, Stellantis's CEO, commended Kuniskis's efforts stating, “I want to take the opportunity to warmly thank Tim for his passion, commitment, and contributions to Stellantis and in defining the vision of the future electrified Ram and Dodge brands. I wish him well in his retirement.”
