McLaren, traditionally known for its high-performance sports cars and racing pedigree, has officially entered the electric bike market. The company unveiled what is touted as the world's most powerful trail-legal electric bike. The launch features models in two power levels and frame styles, with prices ranging from $7,950 to $11,950.

The electric bikes introduced by McLaren are named "Sport" and "Extreme." Both models boast carbon fiber frames and custom handlebars equipped with a digital display. They also feature integrated LED lighting. Designers spent over 1,000 hours crafting these innovative bikes.

The Sport and Extreme models come in two configurations: 250 watts and 600 watts. The base model with 250 watts includes a 36-volt 15 AH battery, 12-speed SRAM drivetrain, Pirelli Scorpion Enduro tires, and RockShox shocks. It delivers a torque of 121 Nm (89 lb-ft). The upper trim offers a more powerful experience with a 600-watt motor that reaches up to 852 watts of max power and speeds up to 32 km/h (20 mph). It comes equipped with a variety of power modes including Eco, Trail, Sport, and Race.

Price points start at $7,950 for the Sport 250 model and reach up to $11,950 for the Extreme 600 version. Interestingly, the powerful 600W versions will be available exclusively in the United States. Compared to other high-end eBikes on the market, these prices reflect McLaren's positioning within the premium segment.
