The Jeep brand is charging into the electrified SUV segment with the reveal of its first global battery-electric vehicle – the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition. The all-new, all-electric Wagoneer S will launch first in the U.S. and Canada in the fall of 2024 and later be available in markets around the world.

Jeep has been selling a small electric crossover, the Avenger, in Europe for a few years now, and now it's bringing its first EV to the U.S. market. At an event in New York on Thursday, Jeep just unveiled the Wagoneer S, a $71,995 luxury SUV.

The Jeep Wagoneer S is offered exclusively as a battery-electric vehicle with a range of more than 300 miles (482 km) on a single charge, delivering 600 horsepower, 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration time of 3.4 seconds, 617 lb.-ft (836 Nm) of torque and brand-exclusive Selec-Terrain traction management system.

The Wagoneer S is the second vehicle on Stellantis’ STLA-Large platform, after the new Dodge Charger. An SUV carries an efficient 400-volt, 100-kilowatt-hour battery pack that allows owners to charge the vehicle from 20-80% in 23 minutes (with DC fast charger).

The Wagoneer S is a very different looking SUV than the boxy, full-size Wagoneer, and it’s quite a bit smaller at just 192.4 inches (4,887 mm) in length to the gas Wagoneer’s 214.7 inches (5,453 mm). In fact, the Wagoneer S is a little smaller than the short-wheelbase Grand Cherokee. The sleek-looking shape helps get the drag coefficient down to 0.29, which is lower than any Jeep before it. The trademark Jeep seven-slot grille remains, but the Wagoneer S’s reduced cooling requirements relegate it to purely ornamental status. It’s also now lit up, so you can tell what it is at night.

The interior of the vehicle is equipped with a multitude of technological features, similar to those found in the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer models. Jeep proudly proclaims that the vehicle offers 45 inches of usable screen space, divided between the gauge cluster, main infotainment display, climate control display, and passenger display. Additionally, the Launch Edition is equipped with a standard 19-speaker McIntosh sound system.

The Wagoneer S offers drive modes for snow and sand, though it lacks adjustable air suspension, a feature available on the Grand Cherokee and Wagoneer. It does, however, include all the latest safety systems as standard, and Jeep provides a home level-2 charger as well.

Available in Jeep brand EV-certified dealerships starting in the second half of 2024, the Wagoneer S Launch Edition has a starting U.S. MSRP of $71,995 (including destination) and qualifies for the Inflation Reduction Act Retail and Lease EV credits.
