Volkswagen is set to introduce a completely redesigned version of the Atlas, with spy shots captured in the Alps unveiling the new model under camouflage. Expected to hit the market in 2025 as a 2026 model, this second generation aims to offer significant updates over its predecessor.

The prototype caught during tests sports a deceptive camouflage mimicking the current Atlas design. However, discernible changes suggest distinct alterations in its dimensions and styling. The front features smaller grilles paired with stacked headlamps, while the bumper showcases bigger intakes and smaller vents.

Moving to the rear, impending updates include new taillights likely extending into a full-width light bar, a backlit logo, a revamped tailgate, and a redesigned bumper. Changes extend to the profile view where larger three-quarter windows appear alongside flush-mounted door handles suggested by stickers.

Although exact details remain speculative with no official confirmation, anticipated powertrain options could include various configurations. Potential offerings might involve four-cylinder engines with 2.0L gasoline setups and hybrid assemblies either self-charging or plug-in types.

When launched in 2025 for the American market, pricing for the new Atlas is expected to start slightly above the current entry-level cost of $37,995. The related Atlas Cross Sport will also undergo visual and technical enhancements.
