Kawasaki has unveiled two new electric bikes tailored for young riders: the Elektrode 20 and Elektrode 20FS. These models cater to children transitioning from balance bikes or beginners. Both bikes feature 20-inch spoked wheels, reflecting a design that encourages learning and active play.

The Elektrode 20 stands out with its advanced features suitable for novice riders. It sports a 750-watt in-wheel brushless electric motor and a chainless, silent drive system. For safety, it comes equipped with disc brakes. The bike also offers three adjustable speed modes—13 mph, intermediate, and up to 24 mph—making it adaptable as the rider's skills grow.

Additionally, the Elektrode 20 includes an in-frame battery capable of running up to three hours and has an auto-sleep feature that activates after ten minutes of inactivity. Its aluminum frame protects against dirt and impacts, while the telescopic front fork enhances its off-road capabilities with a travel of 160mm. Designed to resemble the baby KX model, this bike can support riders up to 132 pounds with an adjustable seat height ranging from 21.7 inches to 27.3 inches.

The Elektrode 20FS introduces further differences geared toward those who prefer BMX-style riding. This model incorporates BMX tires and swaps out the telescopic front fork for a rigid steel one, adding to its street style appeal. It mirrors the design philosophy suited for urban environments or skate parks rather than rugged trails.

Besides aesthetic changes, the Elektorode 20FS supports heavier riders up to 176 pounds and features an adjustable seat height from 23.4 inches to approximately 30 inches to accommodate growing children better. This model has an MSRP of $2,199.
