Lego has announced a new addition to its Icons lineup: the Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole model, featuring life-like scissor doors and a V-12 engine. This detailed collector's item consists of 1,506 pieces and will hit the shelves next month. It is designed for individuals aged 18 and above and carries a price tag of $179.99.

The model closely mirrors the proportions of the iconic car, measuring 33 cm (13 inches) in length, 16,5 cm (6.5 inches) in width and 10 cm (4 inches) tall. Not only do the scissor doors open just like the original, but it also boasts a functional steering wheel, an opening front trunk, and a meticulously designed engine bay under the rear hood that showcases a replica V-12 engine.

The real Lamborghini Countach was first manufactured between 1974 and 1990, becoming famous for its forward-thinking design and powerful performance. The Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole version debuted in 1985, equipped with a 5.2-liter engine which featured four valves per cylinder.

In an exciting return to its heritage, Lamborghini reintroduced the Countach in 2021 as a hybrid V-12 hypercar with an impressive output of 803 horsepower. This modern iteration drew inspiration from the pioneering early models such as the Countach LP400. Despite being limited to just 112 units, they were swiftly sold out due to high demand.

The LEGO model will first be available exclusively to LEGO Insider members on July 1st and will then be released to the general public worldwide on July 4th.
