Due to a train crash in the US, several Porsche Taycan cars have been scrapped. The good news is that the battery modules were recovered from the cars intact. These modules are now being sold on the internet.

The train accident rendered the Porsche cars unusable as complete cars, but allowed the recovery of various parts, including the battery modules. Each Porsche Taycan battery consists of 33 modules that together form part of an 800-volt battery system.

The price per battery module is $199, which adds up to $6,567 for the complete kit excluding tax and shipping. Interested buyers should note the additional components required to assemble these batteries into a functional unit, including mounts, housing, cooling, wiring and shielding to ensure safe operation.

Shipping of these modules is limited to ground shipping and is only available within the Lower 48 states only.

InsideEVs notes that the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT has one of the most advanced battery systems available. The battery pack charges from 8 to 80 per cent in just 16 minutes. That's the fastest of any production EV that has been on this it's test.
