The 2025 Jetta has a redesigned front end with two new grilles, new LED headlights and a full-width functional light bar on the upper grille for Sport and higher trims. The rear of the sedan also features a new full-width taillight strip. New 17-inch wheels come as standard, while 18-inch wheels are available on SEL and GLI trims.
Volkswagen has also updated the Jetta's interior. The front dashboard has a three-level design. New Seawall Blue and Storm Grey colours have been added. And the 8.0-inch touchscreen is now standard on all trims and comes with features such as SiriusXM satellite radio, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The hated capacitive touch controls on the Jetta GLI's centre console and steering wheel remain, but now they are at least illuminated, as they are on other updated Volkswagen models. Later on, the GLI should be fitted with a steering wheel with more convenient physical keys.
What hasn't changed is the powertrain. The basic VW Jetta still uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet (250 Nm) of torque, but since VW has abandoned the manual for the base version, it can now only be had with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.
2025 Volkswagen Jetta GLI
The hotter Jetta GLI is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine as the 2024 version, developing the same 228 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. And the GLI version is still available with a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. You also get more powerful brakes with red calipers, a limited slip differential and adaptive suspension.
Every Jetta, including the GLI, is equipped as standard with the IQ.Drive active safety system. This includes, among other things, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control.
The 2025 VW Jetta and Jetta GLI will go on sale in the third quarter of 2024. The base Jetta with a standard automatic transmission will be slightly cheaper than the model it replaces, but more expensive than the previous manual version. The price of the updated Jetta starts at $23,295 with destination. More detailed pricing information will be announced closer to the date the cars go on sale.
