Castagna Milano, known for remodelling the Fiat 500 into the 'Spiaggina', has offered a similar package for the smaller Fiat Topolino electric car.

The Milan-based company has chosen the summer solstice day of 21 June to unveil a special Topolino that looks like a car perfect for the beach. Fiat already offers a convertible version of its heavy quadricycle with a retractable roof and no doors, but the Castagna Minano conversion takes open-air riding to a new level.

The company has completely removed the roof and pillars of the two-seater electric vehicle, following the recipe of the classic 500 Jolly Spiaggina. The exterior also features fender extenders, while the side sills and rear deck are covered in high-quality wood panels and sporty aluminium handles, introducing Topolino owners to the world of luxury yachts.

For those who want to carry more stuff in the back, the company offers the option of an extended tail. This increases the rear overhang by 300mm, making room for a small but roomy rear deck. The interior is upholstered in premium materials and a removable fabric cover protects it from external influences.

The Beach Topolino retains the standard 8hp electric motor and 5.5kWh lithium-ion battery. The standard model has a WLTP range of 75 kilometres, which is more than enough to get around the grounds of an all-inclusive hotel.

Conversion costs start at €25,000, or €35,000 for the longer version. That might seem expensive for a tiny electric car that costs just €7,544 in Italy.
