Genesis, Hyundai's luxury branch, recently introduced the Genesis X Gran Racer Vision Gran Turismo Concept at the 2024 Busan Motor Show held in South Korea.

The car, which is an advanced version of the earlier Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, incorporates unique styling features for an aggressive look and sports enhancements crafted expressly for the virtual tracks of the Gran Turismo video game—though unfortunately, it’s not available for purchase.

The new concept displays a radical design embedding aero enhancements like a carbon fiber rear wing and fender vents that differentiate it from its predecessor. It also features a unique mono wiper and a rear central fin which add to its futuristic aesthetic specifically tailored for digital racing realms. This car is designed to perform virtually in the Gran Turismo racing game, capturing both attention and imagination.

Powered by a front mid-mounted V-6 engine equipped with an electric supercharger, the Genesis X Gran Racer offers astonishing power outputs. The engine itself delivers 870 horsepower and 790 pound-feet (1071 Nm) of torque, while an additional electric motor boosts these figures by adding another 670 horsepower and 225 pound-feet (305 Nm). Together, they produce an overpowering total system output of 1,540 horsepower and 1,051 pound-feet (1425 Nm).

Not just performance but also branding shines through in this concept’s design motif. Dressed in striking orange paint reflective of Genesis's Magma lineup—the performance-focused sub-brand—it makes a bold statement about style and identity.

Inside, Genesis took drastic measures creating additional racing dynamics by transforming the cabin into a single-seater environment fitted with a carbon fiber bucket seat, fully integrated roll cage, and racing yoke steering control. Further adjustments include more knobs and buttons enhancing driver control over functionalities such as traction settings—aimed at providing an immersive playing experience in Gran Turismo.

Fans of virtual racing games will have to wait as there was no specified release date mentioned for its appearance in Gran Turismo during its showcase at Busan.
