Investigations into these complaints led Porsche engineers to discover that the front brake hoses on these vehicles could crack and leak over time. Porsche is addressing the issue by replacing old hoses with new ones that boast increased flexibility and durability, at no cost to car owners.
Owners of affected models will be notified by July 3, 2024. They can schedule a service appointment using Porsche's customer service number or refer to their website for further details.
This isn't Porsche's first encounter with recalls concerning its Taycan series. Previous issues included a faulty charging cable in December last year and potential short circuits within battery modules reported in March which affected only a few hundred models.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has received notification about this latest recall. They have assigned it the campaign number 24V-455. Customers can also find more information on NHTSA’s website or by contacting their hotline directly.
Introduced in 2019, the Taycan has been a significant model for Porsche, with sales of over 150,000 units globally despite these setbacks. This electric sports car marks a crucial step for Porsche in its evolution towards sustainable mobility solutions, aligning with broader industry shifts toward electrification.
