This set comprises 3,893 pieces, which, when assembled correctly, reveal dihedral doors and a highly detailed interior. The back section houses a 3.8-liter V-8 engine with a seven-speed transmission, just like the real car. It features functional suspension, and the rear spoiler can be raised or lowered.
Visually, it replicates the P1 with precision. The roof and side intakes mirror the real car's design. Lego designers collaborated with McLaren to ensure every detail, including the exact shade of yellow, was accurate. Achieving this level of detail in a small-scale model was challenging.

"We wanted to capture these details in the best way possible with our Lego Technic model and we did not want to compromise in any way," said Kasper Rene Hansen, designer at Lego Group. "We worked on multiple variations of the car to test different designs. The iconic butterfly doors needed a new mechanism to stay open. It was a great experience to recreate the McLaren P1, and I hope supercar enthusiasts enjoy exploring its details in Lego Technic form."
The P1 joins the Lego Technic Ultimate Car Concept Series, which includes other hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron, Lamborghini Sian, and Ferrari Daytona SP3. Sales start in August, with each kit featuring a unique serial number. Lego Insiders who purchase before August 7 can also receive a Technic McLaren P1 logo.
