It's now official: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are ending their TV partnership and closing their production company, W. Chump and Sons, after 21 years of entertaining audiences with shows like BBC's Top Gear and Prime Video's The Grand Tour.

The Daily Mail confirmed the news, which had been hinted at since December, suggesting that the upcoming Zimbabwe special would be their final appearance together on TV. “We decided a long time ago. The one thing we wanted to be in control of is deciding when and where and how we landed,” Richard Hammond said in a statement earlier this year.

Clarkson and Hammond took over as hosts of BBC's Top Gear in 2002, with May joining two seasons later. After 13 years, their contracts were not renewed by the BBC, leading them to launch The Grand Tour on Prime Video in 2016.

Although The Grand Tour is ending, Clarkson will continue his successful Prime Video series, Clarkson's Farm. Hammond and May are also expected to pursue new projects. May has already worked on travel and cooking specials for Prime Video, while Hammond starred in the 2021 survival show, The Great Escapists, with former Mythbuster Tory Belleci.

There are rumors that Prime Video may continue The Grand Tour with new hosts, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for the beloved series.
