International automotive supplier Forvia Hella has introduced a novel headlamp concept for the Audi Q6 e-tron. This innovative front lighting system not only offers adaptive functions like glare-free high beam but also features a digital daytime running light matrix that allows users to choose from up to eight preset digital light signatures.

The headlamp concept for the Q6 e-tron is designed to visually split the lighting elements into two sections, aligned with the bodywork design. The lower section focuses on "seeing" with Matrix LED headlamps composed of 14 LEDs, providing a glare-free high beam that allows for continuous high beam usage without blinding oncoming traffic. The upper section is dedicated to "being seen," featuring digital daytime running lights with customization options. Each headlamp includes a digital daytime running light matrix with 61 individually switchable segments, enabling the personalized digital light signature of the Audi Q6 e-tron.

Yves Andres, a member of Forvia Hella's Management Board, commented: “Audi and Forvia Hella are breaking new ground with the headlight concept for the Q6 e-tron. LED lighting signatures have long been indispensable for the characteristic, emotional design language of vehicles. With the concept we have developed with Audi, we are now offering new levels of customization for consumers to influence the vehicle's front appearance.”

Users can select the daytime running light designs, which also include customized Coming Home/Leaving Home scenes, via a software-based app or the vehicle's Multi Media Interface (MMI).

The matrix LED headlamps are produced in the Czech Republic, with a local version for the Chinese market manufactured in China. Series development is conducted in Germany and the Czech Republic.
