From January to June 2024, the Dacia Sandero sold 143,596 units, marking a 16% increase from the same period last year. This is the first instance where Sandero leads annual car sales in Europe, despite being a favorite among private buyers since 2017.
The Dacia Sandero saw its numbers rise impressively compared to previous years where it held second place both in 2022 and 2023. The car is priced attractively across major markets with costs starting at €11,500 in Germany and £13,795 in the UK. In contrast, Tesla's Model Y struggled this year and dropped to eighth place after leading the charts last year.
Competing models like the Volkswagen Golf took second place with impressive growth and a renewed model earlier this year. Other competitors included Renault Cio in third place and Volkswagen T-Roc closely behind while Peugeot's 208 rounded out the top five.
