A new BMW 7 Series is underway, despite the current model debuting in 2022 for the 2023 model year with a polarizing style. The reason for this refresh so soon is unclear, but it's not common to see automakers updating a model just two years after its launch.

Recently, a convoy of camo-wrapped BMWs, including a previously unseen 7 Series, was spotted testing in Spain. NCars on YouTube captured a close look, revealing some clear changes on the sedan’s front end. The grille remains sizable but appears smaller than before, aligning more with the 5 Series, maintaining its width but reducing its height.

The fascia appears rounder, particularly at the corners, where new headlights are visible. The split-light design seems absent, though thin running lights might still be hidden under the camouflage. While details are still vague, the awkward proportions and contrasting angles of the current 7 Series seem to be at least partially addressed in this prototype, giving hope for a more cohesive design.

Accompanying the sedan in the video were numerous SUVs featuring Neue Klasse design cues, likely the next X5 and iX3, with smooth body lines beneath the camo wrap. The future shape was hinted at with the Neue Klasse X concept in March, though production models are expected to have slightly toned-down edges.

When will these prototypes be revealed? The 7 Series camouflage is likely to come off in 2025, potentially for the 2026 model year. For the SUVs, BMW has confirmed that its first Neue Klasse vehicle will debut in the second half of 2025, possibly starting with one of the SUVs seen in the footage.
