Elon Musk has announced that the Actually Smart Summon feature will be introduced with the FSD V12.5.x update in August.

Tesla's CEO revealed via X (formerly Twitter) that this long-awaited feature will finally return to customer vehicles. In May, Musk hinted that the technology would be available "soon" but rarely provides exact dates until a release is imminent. Actually Smart Summon allows owners to summon their Tesla to their location using GPS coordinates, enabling the car to drive itself to them within a parking lot.

This isn't entirely new; a previous summon feature was removed when Tesla stopped using ultrasonic sensors two years ago. The new system is expected to include significant improvements and additional features. Actually Smart Summon will enable the car to park and retrieve itself, making use of tight spaces that would otherwise be challenging.

The Banish (autopark) feature hasn't been confirmed yet, but it might arrive with the FSD V12.5.x updates or soon after. This feature would let owners get out at their destination and send their Tesla to find a parking spot. While several other automakers already offer self-parking features, Tesla's implementation is highly anticipated by its customers.

Numerous videos and social media posts document the improvements, showcasing FSD 12.5 navigating tricky situations and making quick decisions. Tesla is advancing in the autonomous vehicle space, with more upgrades expected as the reveal of the Tesla robotaxi approaches in October.
