Mitsubishi is set to introduce the facelifted Outlander this fall, featuring an improved plug-in hybrid variant with a longer electric-only range.

The updated Outlander, crucial for Mitsubishi's lineup, will debut in Japan this fall with various updates. Externally, the crossover sports a “more refined and sophisticated face,” though the teaser indicates only minor changes, maintaining a resemblance to its predecessor. A new Moonstone Gray Metallic color option and new wheels, including 20-inch two-tone designs, will be available.

Inside, the interior quality is said to be “greatly improved,” featuring ventilated semi-aniline leather seats and a new 12.3-inch infotainment system, replacing the previous 8- and 9-inch displays. Mitsubishi has collaborated with Yamaha to create a premium audio system with stylish speaker grilles and “four realistic sound” settings.

The crossover will also have a new battery that “significantly extends the EV driving range,” along with a higher output for “powerful and smooth acceleration.” Additionally, a revised suspension and retuned steering system aim to enhance ride comfort, promising a class-above experience.

Full details will be revealed soon, but the current model features a 2.4-liter engine, two electric motors, and a 20 kWh battery pack, offering a combined output of 248 hp (185 kW / 251 PS) and an electric-only range of 38 miles (61 km).
