Dodge is offering big discounts on some of its cars. The company wants to sell more vehicles that are sitting at dealerships.

Stellantis, Dodge's parent company, has started a promotion called "Dodge Power Dollars." Customers can get $10 off for every horsepower in certain models. This deal applies to some 2023 Chargers and Challengers, as well as 2024 Durangos and Hornets.

The biggest discount is on the Durango SRT Hellcat. Buyers can save $7,100 on this powerful SUV. It has a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine with 710 horsepower. The price drops from $95,995 to $88,895 with the discount.

For those who want something a bit less extreme, there's the Durango SRT 392. It comes with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that puts out 475 horsepower. Dodge is taking $4,750 off its $74,995 price tag, bringing it down to $70,245.

Muscle car fans can save too. The Challenger R/T gets a $3,750 discount from its $41,640 starting price.

Even the Hornet, a newer model that hasn't been selling well, gets discounts between $2,680 and $2,880.

Not all models are included in the deal. The high-performance versions of the Charger and Challenger are left out of this promotion.

Dodge isn't just clearing out old stock. They're getting ready for the future too. A redesigned Charger is on the way. It'll have a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine called Hurricane. This new engine will come in two versions: one with 420 horsepower and another with 550 horsepower. Both are more powerful than the current 5.7-liter HEMI V8. There's even talk of an electric version coming soon.

These discounts show Dodge is serious about moving cars off lots. It's a good time for buyers who want a powerful American car at a lower price. But they'll need to act fast - these deals won't last forever.
