The new HurriCrate engines are based on Dodge's twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six. They're the company's most power-dense street performance engines yet. Dodge will offer two variants: the HurriCrate Cat 1 and the HurriCrate Cat 3.
The HurriCrate Cat 1 packs 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque. It'll cost $10,495. For those craving more power, the HurriCrate Cat 3 delivers 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque, priced at $13,745.
Both engines come with some impressive features. They've got two low-inertia, high-flow turbochargers that respond quickly to throttle inputs. They also have high-pressure direct fuel injection and a special coating in the cylinder bores for less friction.
For builders who want more flexibility, Dodge will sell long block versions of both engines. The Cat 1 long block will go for $7,995, while the Cat 3 long block will cost $11,715.
To make the 50th anniversary of Direct Connection even more special, Dodge is offering some deals. Buyers can get $200 or $300 off select crate engines, including the new HurriCrate engines and the Hellcrate HEMI engines.
But that's not all. Dodge is also introducing a Charger Junior Roadster body. It's a half-scale version of a full-size NHRA Funny Car body, inspired by the 2024 model. This little beast is designed for the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League.
The Junior Roadster body fits an 85.5-inch wheelbase and weighs less than 30 lbs. It'll cost $3,765.
All these new products will be available on DCPerformance.com starting August 12.
