Acura's got a new electric car coming, and they're showing it off before it hits the streets in 2025. The car company unveiled their 'Performance EV' concept, giving us a peek at what their top-of-the-line electric vehicle will look like.

This new ride is a mix between a coupe and an SUV. It'll be the first car Acura builds using Honda's brand-new electric car platform. Honda decided to make this platform after they stopped working with General Motors on electric vehicles.

The concept car's front end takes cues from fancy hydrofoil yachts. At the back, Acura says it looks like their NSX sports car, but some folks think it's more like an Aston Martin. That's interesting because Honda's teaming up with Aston Martin for Formula 1 racing soon.

The car's got some cool features. It's got short overhangs and a smaller middle section that might remind you of a Mazda RX-8. There's a vented hood, side vents, and huge 23-inch wheels. The tires are performance-focused, and the brake calipers are big and white with neon green Acura writing on them.

When the real car comes out, it'll probably look a bit different. The wheels and how it sits on the road will likely be toned down. Honda's going to build it at their EV factory in Ohio. We'll see the final version sometime next year, and it should start rolling off the production line in late 2025.

If you want to see this concept car in person, you've got a couple of chances. It'll be at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on Friday, August 16. After that, you can catch it on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Acura's making a big push into electric cars. They've already got the all-electric 2024 ZDX out there. Now, with this new concept, they're showing they're serious about making electric cars that are fun to drive.
