This reveal comes hot on the heels of Cadillac's Sollei concept, a stunning convertible that looked like it could roll off the production line any day now. The Opulent Velocity, on the other hand, takes a big leap into the future.
The V-Series line, now celebrating its 20th birthday, has been a hit with younger, college-educated buyers. Cadillac's betting on this new concept to keep that momentum going.
At the heart of the Opulent Velocity is a switch that flips between two driving modes. In Opulent mode, the car takes over with Level 4 self-driving smarts. Flip to Velocity mode, and you're back in control with a steering wheel and pedals popping out.

Bryan Nesbit, who's in charge of Global Cadillac Design, explained the thinking behind this:
"Ultimately, it's how fast can I go around the track, what's my best time, and what's the best way to do it, and if I can enable that better through the tech, what are the opportunities? And that's really what this study is about."
The Opulent Velocity isn't just about driving modes. It's packed with cool features like big butterfly doors for easy access and a low seating position. The car's got a fresh take on Cadillac's signature vertical lights and a new look for the rear lights. Even the grille, badge, and wheels light up.
Inside, the cabin wraps around you like a cocoon. There's a full windscreen display and a steering wheel with its own screen. The car can even teach you how to drive better on the track, using the windshield and a heads-up display to show you the best racing lines.
Cadillac's keeping quiet on the specifics of the electric powertrain. But they've hinted at new ways of packaging batteries, better cooling tech, and fancy new finishes.
