Hyundai's N Vision 74 concept car will hit the roads. The company has ended years of rumors by confirming production plans for the popular concept vehicle.

Hyundai's CEO shared the news during a recent presentation to investors. A slide in the presentation listed the N Vision 74 as part of the company's future "high-performance EVs." This confirmation comes as Hyundai plans to launch 21 new models by 2030.

The concept's design pays homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, created by legendary Italian automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, the man who designed iconic cars such as the DMC Delorean, VW Golf Mk1, Lotus Esprit Series 1 and Fiat Panda, among many others. But unlike the Pony, the Vision 74 looks retro-modern, with sharp creases, a huge rear spoiler and Ioniq 5-like digital headlights and taillights that make it look a little angry.

The final production version's powertrain remains a mystery. The concept used a 671-horsepower hydrogen fuel cell setup. But Hyundai might opt for a fully electric drivetrain due to the limited adoption of hydrogen power. The company hasn't revealed any performance specs for the production model yet.

Rumors have been swirling about the N Vision 74's production details. An unspecified December report suggested Hyundai would make 100 units - 70 for road use and 30 for racing. The report claimed the car would have 800 hp from a hydrogen and dual electric motor powertrain.

Another rumor from The Korean Car Blog painted a slightly different picture. They reported the car would have 775 hp and start production in 2026. The blog also said research and development work is already underway at Hyundai's Namyang center.

While Hyundai hasn't confirmed an exact timeline, they've committed to launching the N Vision 74 before 2030. If the rumors are true, we could see production start as early as 2026.

Car enthusiasts should keep their eyes peeled. Camouflaged prototypes of the N Vision 74 will likely start appearing on roads soon as Hyundai gears up for production.
