The Omoda 5 SUV starts at £25,235, positioning itself as a cheaper alternative to the British-made Nissan Qashqai. It's powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 183 bhp, paired with a seven-speed auto transmission.
For those looking for an electric option, Omoda offers the E5. This electric SUV is priced from £33,055 and comes with a 61kWh 'blade' battery. The E5's single motor generates 204bhp and provides a WLTP range of 257 miles. It can charge at speeds up to 80kW, adding 129 miles of range in just 28 minutes.

The E5 shares many design elements with its petrol counterpart but sports a slightly different interior and a more aerodynamic front end. While the Omoda 5 features 10-inch screens, the E5 ups the ante with 12.3-inch twin screens.
Both models come packed with standard features. Buyers will get: LED lamps, 18in alloys, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, a Sony speaker system, and faux-leather coverings.
Omoda is banking on these high-end features and what they call "'fashion-derived' stylings" to attract UK buyers.

The company has big plans for expansion in the UK. They're aiming to introduce three more models by the end of next year. Their dealership network will grow from the current 65 to 130 in the same timeframe.
It's worth noting that Omoda won't offer a hybrid option in their lineup. They're focusing on petrol and full electric powertrains for now.
These new entries from Omoda mark the brand's first foray into the UK market. As a subsidiary of Chinese car maker Chery, they're looking to shake up the market with competitively priced alternatives to established models.
