Ford is getting rid of the SecuriCode keypad on the 2025 F-150. This change marks the end of a feature that truck and SUV owners have loved for years.

The SecuriCode system has been a staple on Ford vehicles for decades. It lets drivers get into their vehicles without a key, using a keypad on the door instead. Many Ford owners have come to rely on this handy feature.

Ford's been slowly phasing out the SecuriCode system. They've already removed it from models like the Bronco Sport, Escape, Explorer, and Maverick. Now, it's the F-150's turn.

Up until now, the keypad came standard on all F-150 models except the base XL trim. But for the 2025 model year, that's changing. The keypad won't be a standard feature anymore. Instead, it'll be available as a dealer add-on for $455 on the XLT, Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Raptor trims.

Ford's not leaving F-150 owners without options, though. The trucks will still have smart key fobs and keyless entry. Drivers will also be able to use their smartphones as keys through the FordPass app.

While Ford's phasing out the SecuriCode on most models, some Lincoln vehicles are keeping it. The 2025 Corsair and Aviator will still have the keypad as standard on certain trims.
