Hyundai is giving away free home chargers or charging credits to buyers of its new high-performance electric car. The company wants to make owning an electric vehicle easier for customers who buy the 2025 Ioniq 5 N.

Buyers of the new Ioniq 5 N in the United States can choose between a free Level 2 home charger or $450 in credits for the ChargePoint charging network. The home charger, which usually costs $549, connects to a 240-volt outlet and can fully charge the car overnight. For those who prefer public charging, the $450 in credits can be used at ChargePoint's network of over 35,000 locations across the country.

Hyundai, a company once known for budget-friendly cars, is making a big move with the Ioniq 5 N. This sporty electric crossover packs a punch with up to 641 horsepower and can zoom from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.25 seconds. It's got all-wheel drive and can travel an estimated 221 miles on a single charge. The price tag? $67,495.

People who've already bought the car don't need to worry – they can still get in on the deal. New buyers have 90 days after purchase to claim their freebie, while those who bought before the program started have until October 14 to do so.

There's a catch, though. If you go for the home charger, you'll need to pay for installation yourself and get it done by January 12, 2025.

ChargePoint, the company providing the chargers and credits, runs the largest public EV charging network in the U.S. They've got nearly 65,000 charging ports spread across their locations. Most of these are Level 2 chargers, perfect for overnight charging, but they also have about 3,000 DC fast chargers for quicker pit stops.
