The idea for this unique vehicle came from Volkswagen's own employees in the Technical Development department. They teamed up with BOGNER, a luxury sports fashion brand from Munich, to create something special.
The ID.3 GTX FIRE+ICE stands out with its eye-catching paint job. It's got a 3-layer finish with a glass bead effect that changes color depending on the light. You might see it as dark blue, violet, or even black. The car's roof frame is painted in a striking "Flaming Red" color, and the sides have a cool geometric pattern.
Inside, the car is a tale of two halves. The driver's side is decked out in "Flaming Red" to represent fire, while the passenger side is in ice blue. There are lots of custom touches, like stainless steel pedals with a special design and quilted seats that look like BOGNER's down jackets.
Under the hood, this car's got some serious power. It's based on the ID.3 GTX Performance model, with a motor that puts out 240 kW (326 PS). It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h.
The battery's pretty impressive too. It's got a 79 kWh capacity and can charge up really fast. You can go from 10% to 80% charged in about 26 minutes. On a full charge, it can drive up to 601 km.
This new car is a nod to the Golf Mk2 Fire and Ice from 1990. That car was a collaboration with fashion designer Willy Bogner and turned out to be a surprise hit. They planned to make 10,000 but ended up producing 16,700 because it was so popular.
