Mazda's new electric sedan, the EZ-6, was spotted testing in Germany. This sighting comes just a month after the company said they'd bring the Chinese-made car to Europe later this year.

The EZ-6 is set to replace the old Mazda6. It's built on the same platform as some Chinese sedans made by Changan. The new Mazda is slightly bigger than its predecessor, measuring 4,921 mm (193.7 inches) long. That's slightly longer than the Mazda6 and a little shorter than the Volkswagen ID.7.

Mazda plans to offer two versions of the EZ-6. There's going to be a fully electric model that can go up to 600 km (373 miles) on a single charge. They'll also have a range-extender version that can travel over 1,000 km (621 miles).

The car caught testing in Germany had some interesting features. People noticed an active rear spoiler and black alloy wheels. Even though Mazda has already shown the car in China, they still covered this test model in camouflage. It's not clear if they've made any changes to how it looks for the European market.

Under the hood, the EZ-6 might share some parts with its Chinese cousins. Those cars have rear-mounted electric motors that come in two power levels: 215 hp or 255 hp. The range-extender version will likely use the less powerful motor along with a small gasoline engine to generate electricity.

Mazda first showed the EZ-6 in China back in April. They're planning to start selling it in Europe this fall. However, if you're in North America, you're out of luck - Mazda isn't planning to bring the EZ-6 there.
